AGORΑ participates in Globale Film Festival (January 22 – February 4) which will take place in eight cities of Hesse, Central Germany. The film will screen on Monday, January 25 in Marburg (Capitol Cinema, 18:00) and Giessen (Jokus, 20:30). Screenings will be followed by discussions with academic researcher Fabian Georgi (University of Marburg).
AGORA participates in the 20th Sofia International Film Festival (March 10-31), the leading festival in Bulgaria and one of the key film events in Central and Eastern Europe. The film will screen as part of a special program of independent documentaries curated by Cinema Politica Network. Τhe screening will take place on Saturday, March 19 at 18:00 at Goethe-Institut and will be followed by a Q&A session via Skype with filmmaker Yorgos Avgeropoulos.
AGORA participates in the 2nd Dublin Greek Film Festival (April 21-24) that takes place in the heart of the Irish capital aiming to promote Greek culture through a variety of films and events and show links between Ireland and Greece. The Festival will showcase the latest films by both internationally established directors and emerging filmmakers, who are currently producing many of the most dynamic, innovative and provocative films in the world. The screening of AGORA is scheduled on Friday, April 22 at 18:00 at Filmbase.
AGORA travels to Latin America to participate in the 5th Ecofalante Film Festival (June 15-29) in São Paulo, Brazil. The festival features more than 100 films representing 23 countries, AGORA being the only Greek production featuring in this year’s programme. The film has been selected for the “Economy” category.
AGORA will be screened twice at Reserva Cultural cinema, on Wednesday June 22 at 18:30 and on Monday June 27 at 16:30. A third screening is scheduled on Friday June 24 at 19:00 at the São Paulo Cultural Center (CCSP).
AGORA participates at Urban Stories Festival (March 13-16), a festival about urban journalism, storytelling, future cities and technology.
The Urban Stories Festival, which is organized in Amsterdam by Pakhuis de Zwijger , shares the most important stories the city accommodates. This four-day festival takes a look at urban journalism as a tool to address urban issues and provides a stage for innovative city stories.
AGORA will be screened on Wednesday March 15, at 17:30, at Studio, Pakhuis De Zwijger.
AGORA participates at the 9ème Panorama du Cinéma Grec Contemporain (March 22-27), a very popular institution in the French capital that aims to present to the audience an eclectic array of Greek films produced the last two years.
This year’s Panorama is organized by the Centre Culturel Hellénique with the support of the Greek Film Center, and showcases 7 feature films, 6 documentaries and 1 short film that stood out from the Greek movie production, acting as ambassadors for Greek cinema in Paris.
AGORA will be screened on Friday March 24, at 15:30, and Saturday March 25 at 16:30 at the Cinéma Le Balzac.
